The Battery Free Sensor in Singapore is one of the newest additions to Singapore’s (power) landscape. Introduced in 2018, the sensor helps to conserve power and give an accurate reading of the current power consumption. The sensor is placed in strategic locations, such as the entrance gates of building, to reduce the load on the main power supply. Installation of a battery-free sensor is not only cost-effective, but also eco-friendly as it reduces the need for maintenance and replacements of batteries. Singapore, a global city and financial center, is looking to adopt a battery-free sensor for its public transportation system. The European Union, facing the same issue, has developed a similar system.
